Okay, so you want data. There are now three separate data sets available: 1) Division of Elections data, 2) Libertarian National Committee data, and 3) the data set provided by Labels & Lists. Right now, you can query subsets of those databases and select which fields you would like to retrieve. What we will be able to do with this information is poduce mailing lists, phone contact lists, door-to-door walking lists, and email lists for Libertarians, voters, and those who have contacted or shown interest in the party (for whom I have been provided data). I also intend for this site to be used for tracking contacts to those in the database so that we can measure in a quantitative way how well we are staying in communication with our constituents.
What is the catch? Just that you must get authorization from our current chairperson and contact me to set up an account. We can't just give this information to everybody. Unless directed otherwise, I expect county affiliate chairs to have access to county records, regional representatives to have access to their regions, and party officers to have statewide access.
Please note that only those individuals permitted access to this data pursuant to Fla. Stat. §98.0979 may have access to this information. All those granted access agree to abide by the restrictions contained in Fla. Stat. §98.0979, which reads, in pertinent part, as follows:
(1)(a) The voter registration information of the state constitutes public records. Any citizen shall be allowed to examine the voter registration records, but may not make any copies or extract therefrom except as provided by this section.
...
(2) The information provided by the division or supervisor of elections pursuant to this section shall be furnished only to: ... (c) Political candidates, for the purpose of furthering their candidacies; (d) Registered political committees, certified committees of continuous existence, and political parties or officials thereof, for political purposes only;
...
(3) Such information shall not be used for commercial purposes. No person to whom a list of registered voters is made available pursuant to this section, and no person who acquires such a list, shall use any information contained therein for purposes which are not related to elections, political or governmental activities, voter registration, or law enforcement.
